Cypress College Adding Approximately 40 New Classes for Spring

January 2, 2013 — 4:06 p.m.

Approximately 40 additional classes will be added to Cypress College's spring 2013 semester. The college has identified high demand in a number of areas and the new courses will help provide access for students in these areas.

The list of classes will be available by the end of next week.

Following the passage of Proposition 30 in November, Cypress College created space for 1,000 new student enrollments by adding classes or increasing space in existing courses.

Last month, in response to high demand, the college also added an additional section of English 100.

To help students find space in courses, Cypress College offers a "Find Classes" feature.

Cypress College Re-Opens Following Winter Holiday

January 2, 2013 — 10:45 a.m.

Happy New Year!

OK, yes, it's January 2, which technically makes this greeting a day late. But, today is the first day the campus is open following a holiday break.

Standard hours are in effect for service areas, such as Admissions and Records, while academic-support areas, such as the Learning Resource Center, are typically closed.

Of particular note: walk-in counseling is not available until Jan. 14.

General college service hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m.-noon on Fridays.

The Library is open to clear registration holds only, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. daily until classes begin the week of February 4.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is observed on January 21, and the college is closed completely that day.

For a complete listing of individual office hours for the college, please see this document.
